Review: ‘Artificial Organizations’

Review: ‘Artificial Organizations’

Artificial Organizations by Barry O’Reilly

There are so many people who have figured out how to indoctrinate AI into their work world. At the same time, there are plenty of people (Executives included) who use AI as a search engine. Barry O’Reilly’s book is a practical guide for those deliberating on how to use AI effectively. And it’s not as a search engine – it’s as a thinking partner. One particularly golden chapter shares how to use different AI tools to capture, transcribe, synthesize, and act (Psst… it’s chapter 3). The key is to define the workflows well before introducing AI tools into the process. The HUMAN thinking starts the process and evaluates the results. But equally important is challenging AI’s bias to please by using prompts and questions that encourage critical AI thinking. This book has examples of all of the above, and if you are trying to understand how leaders can leverage AI more effectively, this is the book for you.
